Celebrity Chef Candice Kumai Hosts Cooking Class
National Pasta Association’s Chef Ambassador Educates and Provides Nutritious Meals to Kids in Need
According to the USDA, over 16 million children lived in food insecure households in 2010. To help bring awareness and combat hunger in our local area, on Wednesday, October 26th, National Pasta Association’s Pasta Fits ambassador chef Candice Kumai will host a cooking class for The Community Food Bank of New Jersey’s Kids Café, a Feeding America after school meal service, providing free and prepared food and nutrition education to hungry children.
Chef Candice Kumai will show the children of Kids Café that healthy meals can be delicious and incorporate some of their favorite foods. In addition, Candice will discuss with attending parents nutritious meal options using affordable ingredients such as pasta which is on average only $1.40 per pound.
