Prevention Magazine: 15 Healthy Food Combos
Did you know that pairing certain foods together can yield greater health benefits? Prevention Magazine listed 15 food combos which when two foods are eaten together can have a greater impact on your health! Tara Gidus, Registered dietitian and spokesperson for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics notes that “Adding just one food to another can make a tremendous difference in your total nutrient intake and offer significant health gains.”
Scrambled eggs + red peppers, garden salad + canned wild salmon, salsa + chickpeas all make the list along side pasta (of any kind) + parsley. In addition to adding a boost of flavor, sprigs of parsley will help to deliver vitamin K. Registered Dietitian, Marisa Moore adds that Vitamin K is important for bone health—studies show that it helps prevent fractures and may guard against bone loss.
